POCUS Training in Nephrology: IAPN’s Position Statement

Just released! The International Alliance for POCUS in Nephrology (IAPN) has published a position statement in the Clinical Kidney Journal. This statement covers the rationale for multi-organ POCUS in nephrology, the scope of practice, curriculum essentials, workshop organization, and practical guidance for competency assessment. While it’s not a Delphi consensus, it’s a crucial first step toward standardizing POCUS training in nephrology, paving the way for future projects to solidify POCUS’s role in our field. I’m thrilled to have led this team of exceptional experts from around the world, all dedicated to transforming nephrology education through POCUS. Special thanks to my core committee – Drs. Argaiz, Romero-Gonzalez, Reisinger, and Gomes Bastos, and to every panel member for their insightful suggestions in shaping this document. Stay tuned for the typeset version for easier reading!
