POCUS Precourse at the NKF Spring Clinical Meetings 2025

Excited about learning POCUS but not sure where to start? We’ve got you covered! Our POCUS precourse at the NKF Spring Clinical Meetings is happening on April 9, 2025, in Boston. Designed for beginners, this one-day workshop will help you build confidence in image acquisition and interpretation for common sonographic applications relevant to nephrology. Apologies for the late post, but we’re nearing max capacity! If you’re thinking about joining, now’s the time to register!

What to Expect

The course includes a mix of live lectures and hands-on scanning sessions, covering renal, lung, and basic cardiac ultrasound. Since cardiac imaging is often the most challenging, we dedicate three scanning rotations to ensure participants truly grasp sonographic anatomy—cramming it into one session wouldn’t do it justice! We don’t cover advanced applications like VExUS and Doppler echocardiography here; the focus is on mastering the basics. If you’re interested in advanced topics, consider attending our NKF Arizona course, typically held in March (though it’s already passed for this year).

A Few Important Notes

📌 POCUS workshops are just the beginning—the goal is to give you the confidence to start scanning at your home institution. No one becomes competent in POCUS after a one- or two-day course. Practice is key!

📌 There are no financial incentives involved—neither I nor any of the faculty receive any fee for these courses, which allows NKF to keep the registration fee as low as possible. Our outstanding faculty includes Dr. Reisinger (the usual suspect), leading intensivists in the POCUS world, and POCUS-fellowship trained internists.

Looking forward to seeing you in Boston! Let’s keep growing the POCUS movement in nephrology. 🚀
